Mridangam is essentially a south Indian percussion instrument. In fact its name is made up of two words. Mrida (Clay) and Angam (Body) and now The mridangam is played resting it almost parallel to the floor. A right-handed mridangam artist plays the smaller membrane with their right hand and the larger membrane with the left hand. For a left- handed percussionist, the legs and hands are switched.

Learn to play the musical mridangam drums in a modified and specially tailored class structure. Each student can learn the mridangam in a formalized, organized and consistent approach through the time-tested and unique teaching methodology of Guru DIVYA MEENAKSHI, a renowned teacher, percussionist and composer.
